“Outsource Your Personal Life”–This Time, They’ve Gone Too Far

Last week I was on a plane, reading an inflight magazine. Between ads for beachfront condos, Las Vegas condos, and “Steroids for Your Career” was an exhortation to “Outsource Your Personal Life.” I started laughing loudly enough that I had to explain myself to the person sitting next to me. Seeing the tagline, he started laughing, too. Apparently, some people are far too busy to have a personal life, so they may want to outsource it, so they can focus on what’s really important to them. I think this was a dating service, that perhaps does some of the legwork for busy execs. They may help a lot of people for all I know. But what a tagline…

No, this has nothing to do with pricing, it’s just so absurd I had to mention it.

Nothing to do with pricing huh?

I’d just love to see value-based pricing hit online dating/match-maker sites…free if your ugly & premiums for the attractive.

See “Freakonomics” by Steven Levitt for more info.

    😉
