Give Their Pricing Team a Bonus

Scotland recently paid £125,000 (over $250,000) to advertising firm The Leith Agency to come up with a new slogan to welcome visitors to Scotland. The old phrase “Scotland, the Best Small Country in the World” typified the “Scottish cringe” according to First Minister Alex Salmond.

So what’s the new phrase? “Welcome to Scotland.”

In fairness to the ad firm, there are graphics that go along with the words, as well. As someone commented here, it would be better to train passport control to be more friendly if they really want to make a good impression on visitors.
