But then somehow you realize your business has got control of you. (Or is that just me?)
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately– not just my business, but the dependencies of my business. I finally got the Mimiran iPhone app approved for the App Store, but it took over a month of arguing with reviewers, with no guarantee of success. I was very much not in control, and it was not fun.
As the web gets carved into walled fiefdoms, controlled by algorithms, our control over how we get our clients gets chipped away, too.
Which means our relationships, always important, become that much more important. We don’t control other people, either, but we control what we put into those relationships.
